Dear Clients, Business Partners and Friends of toksta!

Due to an alleged trademark infringement we are no longer allowed to use ‘toksta’ as the name of our company. We are therefore going to continue all operations under our new name Stickapps.com !

And before you ask: Nothing will change for you. All logins will stay the same and you do not have to change your implementation code. It is also still possible to reach us and our support through the same email addresses and our domain toksta.com will redirect to the new site www.stickapps.com.

So please don’t worry: We will not let ourselves distract by this unpleasant incident and continue to work on improving our products and service as usual. We would also like to use this opportunity to thank all of our clients and partners for the perpetual trust and support!

Since 2002 the Amiguinhos.com allows thousands of people find new friends or a special relationship.

The community has grown every year and now thousands of people share interests, photos and messages. Every day there are new people to sign up and find friends and love.

Toksta has been implemented to further encourage the community to communicate with each other beyond the limits of traditional text messages!

Today we released our beautiful Wiki in which we will post FAQs, help on typical problems and a lot of How-To’s describing the power of the simple toksta API and the flexiblity of the toksta implementation script.

TechCrunch coming back to Berlin !

On June 10th, Mike Butcher will bring TechCrunch back to Berlin! We have already been at the last event in 2008 wich was awsome and also gave us the opportunity to interview Mike, so make sure to get the last tickets and for all startups: apply for pitching (if you are from Germany or Austria)!

toksta* IM plugin now available for vBulletin

Now the toksta* Instant Messenger can be integrated easily into the bulletin board software vBulletin. It’s based on PHP and MySQL and one of the most popular bulletin board softwares out there!

To download the modification just register and go to the “implementation” area of our backend. There you can generate your own code and download a detailed instruction. If you need help during the installation process, feel free to contact our support team.

The toksta* IM is also available for: phpBB, osDate, elgg, Wordpress, phpFox and Joomla. (All are available in our backend)

We are continuously developing new ways to integrate our products into 3rd party software. If you have developed a plugin for a product which is not listed above, please leave a comment.

Online Personals Watch is a blog covering all news from the online dating industry and in this weeks news summary, toksta got covered as well. Make sure to check it out. ;-)

Author Mark Brooks also writes a second blog (SocialNetworkingWatch) which focuses on all news related to the social networking world.

I have met Mark briefly at the iDate 2008 in Miami, and you can find interviews from the event here and here. There are also official pictures from this years iDate.

The next iDate will be held in L.A. on June 25th- 26th. The official site is up and registration already started. We hope to meet everyone there or at the upcoming iDate in London (September 24th - 25th).

Ongoing data recovery after Hosteurope downtime

+++ Due to the downtime of our hosting provider this weekend we are still in the process of recovering some registration data. Affected are only new registrations between Wednesday, April 15th and today (Monday, April 20th). +++

Some people who have signed up as a new user during that time might not be able to log into their account. We are working on recovering all data but suggest users that have problems logging in to register again.
